FX has given an official premiere date to Atlanta after the show has been off the air for three years.
The third season of the acclaimed comedy series will premiere on Thursday, March 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX and will stream the next day on Hulu. The premiere event will feature the season’s first two episodes. A teaser trailer was shown during ESPN and ABC’s slate of NBA games on Christmas Day. A surprise teaser dropped back in October.
This will also be the first season that the show will be available for streaming in-season on Hulu.
“We are thrilled to have Atlanta back with a new season on March 24th,” said Eric Schrier, President, FX Entertainment. “Once again, Donald Glover, the producers and stellar cast have delivered another signature season synonymous with the excellence that makes Atlanta so great.”
Catch the vibe:
Taking place almost entirely in Europe, Season 3 finds “Earn” (Donald Glover), “Alfred / ‘Paper Boi’” (Brian Tyree Henry), “Darius” (LaKeith Stanfield) and “Van” (Zazie Beetz) in the midst of a successful European tour, as the group navigates their new surroundings as outsiders, and struggle to adjust to the newfound success they had aspired to.
Since its debut, the show has catapulted its four stars to massive success, and all four have become established movie stars in their own rights. The first two seasons won five Emmy awards. When the show returns, it will have been off the air for almost three years.
Atlanta is executive produced by Donald Glover, Stephen Glover, Hiro Murai, Stefani Robinson, Paul Simms and Dianne McGunigle. Atlanta is produced by FX Productions.
