Netflix’s The Gray Man Set to be the Highest-Costing Film
Regé-Jean Page, Alfre Woodard & Billy Bob Thornton have joined the cast of the Russo Brothers’ upcoming film The Gray Man. According to Deadline, the Netflix film’s set to be the highest-costing film for the streamer; yet with a budget of $200 million. Filming is set to start in Los Angeles this month.
Based on the 2009 novel by Mark Greaney, The Gray Man’s script is written by the Russos; along with Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. Like the book, the film will follow freelance assassin The Gray Man aka Court Gentry, who goes on high-risk missions similar to James Bond and The Bourne Identity. Greaney has several books in his The Gray Man series, which means if this first film is a success, Netflix will look to the series to start a film franchise.
Netflix’s The Gray Man cast currently includes Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Jessica Henwick, Julia Butters and Wagner Moura. The Russos will produce through their production company AGBO with AGBO’s Mike Larocca. Jeff Kirschenbaum, Joe Roth and Chris Castaldi will also produce via Roth/Kirschenbaum Films.
