The Chi’ Season4 Release Date
We’ve been eagerly awaiting updates on the new season of Lena Waithe‘s drama The Chi. The hit series, which follows residents of the South Side of Chicago; was locked in for Season 4 last August, continuing the stories of Ronnie, Emmett, Kevin, and more.
At the time, Waithe said The Chi had taken her “on a journey,” per Variety. “One of learning, healing, and growth. I didn’t know how this season would be received, but the level of engagement and enthusiasm from the fans has been fantastic,” she continued. “I still can’t believe our numbers are up by double digits! The Chi is a team effort, and I’m grateful to continue this journey with such an amazing group of people.”
Season 4 has been kept under wraps since the renewal announcement last summer. But here’s what we know so far.
Showtime announced in March. That the Season 4 release for The Chi has been set for Sunday, May 23 at 9/8c.
While Season 3 of The Chi wrapped up late last summer. We have to wait a little while for Season 4, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to slow down production on TV & movies. There’s normally about a year gap between new seasons of The Chi; but right now, we can expect to see new episodes this summer.
In the next season of The Chi, we can expect to see Jacob Latimore, Alex Hubert, Yolanda Ross , Shamon Brown Jr. and Michael V. Epps. But we’re also getting some fresh faces in Season 4. Tabitha Brown and Jason Weaver are joining the series, while Curtiss Cook has been made a series regular, Deadline reported early last month. Brown will play interior designer Octavia, while Weaver will play Trig’s (Luke James) old friend Rahsaad “Shaad” Marshall.
