The NBA and NBPA have reached an agreement on replacement players for teams, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Baxter Holmes.
In an effort to reduce the number of game disruptions caused by COVID-19. Teams that have several players in health and safety protocols will be able to sign replacement players.
Every team can sign one replacement player for each roster player who tests positive for COVID-19.
Signing replacements will have no impact on an NBA team’s salary cap or luxury tax.
Through Sunday, 64 players and two coaches have entered the health and safety protocols over the last six days. Several games have been postponed; including one between the Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic originally scheduled for Dec. 20
