Will Smith has confirmed that a fourth installment of the Bad Boys franchise is in the works. The highly anticipated sequel will be directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who have previously directed the third film in the series, Bad Boys For Life.
The announcement came after Smith’s infamous altercation with Chris Rock at the Oscars last year, which had cast doubt over whether the project would continue. However, Smith’s recent performance in the lead role of Apple’s Emancipation, as well as the limited public backlash to its release, have reassured studios that Smith’s image can be gradually rehabilitated.
Last summer, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence stirred up excitement amongst their fans. Announcing that a third installment of the Bad Boys franchise was in the works. Lawrence, in particular, was optimistic about the prospects of the movie. Noting that the first two films had been critically and commercially successful.
However, the expectations for Bad Boys For Life, the third installment in the series, surpassed even Lawrence’s optimistic predictions. The movie proved to be not just a hit at the box office, but a true phenomenon, outperforming the first two entries combined.
The success of Bad Boys For Life was a testament to the strength of the franchise. With its two Black sitcom stars, proving that it could draw in sizable crowds. Indeed, its success gave the franchise a chance to show that it had the staying power to captivate audiences for years to come.
The movie’s prior success has set the stage for an even bigger and better fourth movie. One which will no doubt deliver an even more thrilling and action-packed adventure for fans. This time, fans have even higher expectations for the movie with Smith & Lawrence back at the helm. They can be confident that the Bad Boy’s Sequel will live up to the hype.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is returning to the project, and fans are expecting the fourth film to have even higher expectations.
