Brazilian Soccer Superstar Pelé Dies At 82
Pelé is a retired Brazilian Soccer Superstar widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He is known for his exceptional technical skills and speed, as well as his ability to score goals from a variety of positions on the field. Pelé began his professional career with Santos FC in Brazil, where he won numerous domestic and international titles, including the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup. He also played for the Brazilian national team, winning three World Cups and scoring a record 77 goals in 92 appearances. Pelé was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 1970. He was inducted into the Brazilian Football Museum Hall of Fame and the International Football Hall of Fame. After retiring from soccer, Pelé became a global ambassador for the sport and was involved in a variety of philanthropic and business ventures.

He died on Thursday from multiple organ failure due to the progression of colon cancer, according to a statement from Albert Einstein Hospital.
His agent, Joe Fraga, confirmed his death: “The king has passed.”
