Dave Chappelle to Produce Four Netflix Comedy Specials

Even with push back from Netflix employees over Dave Chappelle’s last stand-up special, the streaming giant will be sharing his next project. “Chappelle’s Home Team.” They Consist of four specials hosted and produced by the humorist.

The series will feature four comics handpicked by Chappelle, including Nathaniel “Earthquake” Stroman and “Chappelle Show” alum Donnell Rawlings. All of who have at least 30 years of stand-up experience.

“I’ve been doing this a long time and comedians like Quake and Donnell are not only friends but have inspired my own career,” Chappelle said in a statement. “Anyone in the comedy community knows these names and knows their time to shine is long overdue. I am proud to be a part of this moment.”

“Chappelle’s Home Team” directed by Chappelle’s go-to collaborator, Stan Lathan. Executively produced by Chappelle, Lathan, Earthquake, Rikki Hughes and Jermaine Smith.

This follows his own controversial Netflix special, “The Closer.” Setting social media on fire. Many accusing him of transphobia based on jokes within the 1-hour set.

Most recently, the Ohio resident was called out for allegedly stopping development of affordable housing in his Yellow Springs neighbourhood. An accusation he denied via his rep.

“Dave Chappelle didn’t kill affordable housing,” spokesperson Carla Sims said. “Concerned residents and a responding Village Council ‘killed’ a half-baked plan which never actually offered affordable housing.”
