Luka Dončić is a professional basketball player from Slovenia who currently plays for the Dallas Mavericks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is considered one of the best young players in the league and has already achieved a lot of success at a young age. Dončić was selected as the third overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks, but was traded to the Mavericks on draft night.

In his rookie season, he was named NBA Rookie of the Year after averaging 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. He has since been named an NBA All-Star in each of his three seasons with the Mavericks and has helped lead the team to the playoffs each year.

Dončić has also represented the Slovenian national team in international competition, winning a gold medal at the 2017 FIBA European Championship for Small Countries. He has also won numerous individual awards and accolades throughout his career, including being named the Euro League MVP in 2018 and the ACB Most Valuable Player in 2019.

Although he is only in the midst of his fifth NBA season, Dallas Mavericks head coach and Basketball Hall of Famer Jason Kidd has already seen enough out of Luka Dončić to declare him an all-time great.

After Dončić posted a historic 60-point, 21-rebound, 10-assist triple-double in a 126-121 overtime win against the New York Knicks on Tuesday, Kidd said the following about his superstar guard, per ESPN’s Tim MacMahon: “To do something that’s never been done before, that’s hard to do. There’s been some great players before him. Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain, he was in that class, and then he separated himself and made his own class.”
